Employment Opportunity: Municipal Groundskeeper

Do you feel like working outdoors this summer? The Municipality of Clare is seeking applications for a Municipal Groundskeeper!

GENERAL INFORMATION AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • The Groundkeeper’s work environment is outdoors, on various municipal grounds and parks, including sports fields and playgrounds.
  • The working environment can be noisy due to the equipment used (e.g. a lawnmower).
  • Some lifting and carrying of equipment.
  • This is a 6-month term position from May 1, 2024, until October 31, 2024.
  • Reports to the Recreation Manager.
  • The work schedule for the Groundskeeper will be primarily a traditional 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. schedule, Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and/or weekend hours.
  • Hourly wage of $20 per hour.
ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Municipal Groundskeeper will be responsible for maintaining municipal grounds and parks, including athletic fields and playgrounds; performing general maintenance and cleaning of park grounds and washrooms; operating lawn mowers, small landscape related equipment and assisting with general maintenance duties at various locations. Employment Opportunity: Camp Leader

Are you excited about offering children the opportunity to participate in an engaging and memorable summer camp? Would you like to spend your summer planning and executing fun activities for youth? The Municipality of Clare is looking for applications to fill five Camp Leader positions for our day camp this summer!

GENERAL INFORMATION AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • Five (5) positions available.
  • The Camp Leader’s work environment will be based primarily outdoors and in the yurts on the Université Sainte-Anne campus, with a variety of activities and trips as part of the day camp programming. Camp Leaders will also occasionally work in the municipal office to plan camp activities and events.
  • This is a 10-week summer position.
  • Start date: June 24, 2024.
  • Reports to the Recreation Manager.
  • Camp Leaders work a 35-hour week, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
  • Hourly wage of $16 per hour

Employment Opportunity: Specialized Care Camp Monitor

Would you like to work closely with children with special needs? Would you like to be part of our first accessible day camp? The Municipality of Clare is looking for applications to fill the position of Specialized Care Camp Monitor!

GENERAL INFORMATION AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • The Specialized Care Camp Monitor’s work environment will be based primarily outdoors and in the yurts on the Université Sainte-Anne campus, with a variety of activities and trips as part of the day camp programming. Camp Monitor’s will also occasionally work in the municipal office to plan camp activities and events.
  • This is a 10-week summer position.
  • Start date: June 24, 2024.
  • Reports to the Recreation Manager.
  • The Specialized Care Camp Monitor’s work schedule will be 35 hours a week, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
  • Hourly wage of $17 per hour.
