YVON LEBLANC APPOINTED WARDEN, NEW  COUNCILLOR NADINE COMEAU SWORN IN, AT CEREMONY AT MUNICIPALITY OF CLARE

Little Brook, NS – December 6, 2021: At the official swearing in ceremony on Wednesday, December 1, Yvon LeBlanc of District 8 was unanimously appointed Warden of the Municipality of Clare.

Mr. LeBlanc has sat on Council for five years. He was appointed Deputy Warden in 2020.

“I ran for Council five years ago because I was curious to know how the Municipality operates. With time, I wanted to do more; it’s my goal to do good for my community,” states the new Warden.

Mr. LeBlanc plans to continue the work carried out by his predecessor Ronnie LeBlanc, with an emphasis on high-speed Internet, health care and affordable housing, as well as welcoming public spaces in anticipation of the Congrès mondial acadien in 2024.

The evening also included the swearing in of Nadine Comeau, newly elected Councillor for District 7.

Councillor Éric Pothier of District 6 was appointed Deputy Warden. He has sat on Council since 2016.

A Special Election for District 7 was held on November 20, 2021. Left vacant by Warden Ronnie LeBlanc following his election to the Nova Scotia Legislative Assembly as the Liberal representative for the riding of Clare, District 7 includes parts of Meteghan, St. Martin, Bear Cove and St. Alphonse. As Deputy Warden, Yvon LeBlanc assumed the Warden’s activities in interim before he was officially sworn in on December 1.
