Clare, Nova Scotia – October 17, 2025 — The Municipality of Clare is pleased to announce that Mr. Steven Comeau was officially sworn in as District 5 Councillor during a ceremony held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the municipal office.

The ceremony marked the beginning of Councillor Comeau’s term representing the residents of District 5.

Warden Yvon LeBlanc congratulated Councillor Comeau and welcomed him to Council, noting that he looked forward to working with him, and thanked all who ran for Council in the 2025 Special Election.

“We are pleased to welcome Councillor Comeau to the team,” said Warden LeBlanc. “His dedication to his community and commitment to serving the residents of District 5 will be a great asset to Council as we continue our work on behalf of all residents of Clare.”

Councillor Comeau expressed gratitude for the community’s support and shared his enthusiasm for beginning his new role.

“It’s an honour to represent the people of District 5,” said Councillor Comeau. “I look forward to working with my fellow Councillors and municipal staff to address local priorities and continue building a strong, vibrant Clare.”

With his swearing-in complete, Councillor Comeau attended his first official Council meeting shortly after the swearing-in ceremony was complete.
