Newly launched Art de la Baie brochure promotes visual artists from the Clare Acadian Shore

Little Brook, NS – July 2, 2020: The Municipality of Clare and community partners are launching a new map-brochure inviting visitors and locals alike to discover and support the visual artists of the beautiful Acadian community of Clare, Nova Scotia.

Artists participating in the Art de la Baie initiative invite you to spend the day to discover the Clare area through its art. The map-brochure serves as a guide as travellers hit the road in the picturesque St. Mary’s Bay to visit 18 artist galleries and studios.

“The Art de la Baie map-brochure is a great way to showcase the vibrant art community of la Baie Sainte-Marie,” says local painter June Deveau, who is one of the artists participating in the project. “The diversity of the work available in this area is amazing and well worth the time to explore.”

A rich array of art media are represented, from painting, sculpture, stained glass, pottery and quilts. Please call ahead to arrange a visit. Note that galleries may be limiting the number of visitors at a time.

Coordinated by the Municipality of Clare Tourism Services, the project is funded by the Municipality of Clare, community partners (La Société acadienne de Clare, La Fédération régionale des arts et du patrimoine de la Baie and Le Conseil des Arts de la Baie) and 18 participating artists.

“We are excited to collaborate with so many local talented artists on this cross-promotion project,” notes Larry Peach, Tourism Manager for the Municipality of Clare. “The artists of Clare remind us to slow down and appreciate our community’s rich and inspirational beauty.”

The marketing campaign includes a Facebook page (www.facebook.com/artdelabaie) that will promote the artists and their galleries and studios, while also providing updates and information regarding COVID-19 conditions. Organizers will be working with Maritime travel media writers to help promote the Art de la Baie project. Brochures will be available at each of the participants’ galleries, partner locations and visitor information centres.
