DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
The Municipality of the District of Clare is currently accepting applications for the position of Director of Finance.
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Finance is responsible for the development and implementation of the Municipality’s Financial Management Strategy which includes managing the day-to-day financial activities of the Municipality, operational and capital budgeting, interim and annual financial reporting, and providing strategic advice to both the Chief Administrative Officer and Council.
The successful candidate will demonstrate proven leadership skills, the ability to work in a team environment, and possess strong analytical and problem solving skills. Qualifications also include a post-secondary degree in commerce / administration along with a minimum of three years practical accounting experience. An accounting designation or relevant certification under the National Advanced Certificate in Local Authority Administration (NACLAA) would be considered a significant asset.
Bilingualism (French and English) imperative.
