Clare - The history:
July 1, 1768 –The Warrant of Survey signed and dated by Governor Michael Franklin, ordering that the lands between the Sissiboo River and the Yarmouth County border be surveyed and granted to the Acadians and that the new township ne named Clare.
September 5, 1768 - Joseph Dugas, his wife Marie-Josèphe Robichaud and their four-year-old daughter Isabelle arrived in Clare to take possession of Lot No. 10.
September 25, 1768 - Joseph and Marie Dugas gave birth to their first son, Joseph Jr., the first Acadian born in Clare. His baptism was the first religious Christian ceremony in Clare
